After Effects localization

Localize comps without rebuilding the project by hand.

Motion Workbench duplicates selected compositions or folder trees, translates text layers from CSV or AI, renames language tokens, and keeps nested precomps organized for multilingual production.

Localization CSV or AI translate
main_enSelected comp with nested precomps
Scan text layers
main_esSpanish text and _es sources
main_deGerman text and _de sources
packshot_en.mp4Replaced with packshot_es.mp4
nested_enDuplicated or reused as nested_es

Workflow

Built for real multilingual After Effects projects.

CSV dictionary mode

Load a language dictionary, select the source language, choose target languages, and duplicate comps or mirrored folder structures from the Project panel.

AI translate mode

Scan selected comps, estimate token cost, translate text layers with OpenAI or Gemini, and preserve brand terms or text that should not be translated.

Source replacement

Language tokens can be renamed anywhere in comp, layer, and source names, including patterns like en_main, main_en_123, and 211_en.mp3.

Process

From one master comp to localized versions.

  1. Select a comp or folder in the After Effects Project panel.
  2. Choose CSV localization or AI translation.
  3. Select target languages and optional preserve terms.
  4. Create localized comps while nested precomps and matching source files are reused or duplicated.
